Irrigation Designing
Irrigation is an artificial application of water to the soil. It is used to assist in the growing of agricultural crops, maintenance of landscapes, and re-vegetation of disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of inadequate rainfall. Additionally, drip and sprinkler irrigation also has a few other uses in crop production, which include protecting plants against frost, suppressing weed growing in grain fields, and helping in preventing soil consolidation.
Drip irrigation is the method in which long pipes of water are spread on the field where the seeds are sown there is a tap from which drop by drop of water come and fall on the appropriate place at which the plant is placed.
Drip irrigation, also known as trickle irrigation, functions as its name suggests. Water is delivered near the root zone of plants, drop by drop. This method can be the most water-efficient method of irrigation, since evaporation and overflow are minimized.
